Why did you decide to join BC?
Josh: I decided to join BC because I was super involved in high school. I was in many clubs and sports, and I knew I wanted to do that in college. I thought BC would be great because it could really get me immersed in the college experience and the business side. I thought it was a great way to meet a lot of friends while still developing professional skills.
Owen: I joined BC because I had some friends in it who said it was a great organization to be in. Not only to improve my resume, but to meet a lot of great people who were doing a lot of great things.
Parth: The people were cool and pizzas at internal meetings are a great incentive.
What has been your favorite moment of BC so far?
Josh: So far, my favorite moment has been Starved Rock. I thought it was really fun. It was a really nice to get outdoors and have a change of pace. We don’t get to do that down here much.
Owen: My favorite moment is the shoutout box at internal meetings. It brings everyone closer together. We can all joke around, while also being professional in other situations.
Parth: Making new friends and making new connections that will last for a long time. Networking is probably the best part of BC from what I’ve gathered so far.
What are you studying and why?
Josh: Even though I am business undecided, I want to double major in supply chain management and Information Systems & Information Technology. I am really into logistics, I really like to see how things get from point A to point B and I feel like if I have a supply chain degree it will show me the operations side of business. Down the road one day I want to start my own business so I feel like it’s a great major to teach me a lot of stuff.
Owen: I am currently in general studies, but I am taking all of the business courses because I want to transfer into the College of Business. I want to transfer into business because it’s a relatively vague area to study, and I currently do not know what I want to do. I want to start studying business to figure out what I want to do over the next four years.
Parth: I am majoring in accounting, finance and economics with a minor in mathematics and statistics. I like business, so I wanted to learn about the financial side of business and I want to get a PhD in finance or financial economics. [Those concentrations] are all necessary tools to get a PhD.
What else are you involved with on campus?
Josh: At the moment, I am only in BC, but next semester I want to do student consulting for nonprofits and entrepreneurs without borders.
Owen: I am also an Evans Scholar.
Parth: On campus, I also do research with professors on corporate governance and gas taxes.
What are you looking forward to within BC?
Josh: I am looking forward to getting to know people more, there’s a lot of people I haven’t met that much. It’s such a high caliber group of people that I want to get to know and hopefully get some leadership positions. I want to help the Council by coming up with some cool events to help people have fun and further themselves in business development.
Owen: I am looking forward to becoming better acquainted with everyone else and getting involved with leadership positions in the future. I think it’d be good to get some more responsibility on my hands and grow as a person.
Parth: I want to meet the new, new member class next semester so we can make new friends.
